Chess and sea shanties

Find out your five tasks for today below!

It’s a new week and that means we’ve got a tonne of Activity Quest tasks for you!

Complete these tasks then let us know below to get a shout-out on Fun Kids at 6pm and in the Activity Quest podcast the following day.

1. Listen to the latest episode of the Fun Kids Science Weekly

First up, like every week, it’s to listen to the latest episode of the Science Weekly podcast.

There’s a new one every Saturday. We want to know… Who’s Dan talking to?

MOBILE: Fun Kids Science Weekly

The science podcast for kids with Dan exploring the weirdest and coolest stuff in science!

2. Watch this series!

Next up, it’s time to find out something new.

We’re sharing videos from our Jobs from The Past series right now. It’s all about the grim things kids used to do in victorian Britain.

Watch the video and tell us the coolest or grossest thing you’ve learned from it.

3. Play some chess

Your third thing is to try and play chess.

Chess is a game that’s been around for centuries – that’s hundreds of years.

We want you to play a game. Now, if you don’t have a chessboard you can find a chess simulator online – chess.com is good, but make sure you ask an adult first.

4. Find out about sea shanties

Four, and… did you hear what happened on the breakfast show this morning?

Sean got called by pirates! They said we didn’t play enough sea shanties and, well, Bex is being honest… she’s not sure she knows what a sea shanty is…

Tell us below!

5. Draw something!

And finally, how’s your drawing?

Loads of you have been getting arty in lockdown and we love to see what you’re up to.

Send us a picture at FunKidsLive.com/daily and you could be on the Fun Kids website later this week!

So, that’s…

  1. Listen to the Fun Kids Science Weekly
  2. Watch an episode of Jobs from the Past
  3. Play a game of chess
  4. Tell me what a sea shanty is
  5. Show us your drawings!
