The Reading is Magic Festival will return from 27 September – 1 October! There will be so many writers, illustrators and poets taking part in the five-day festival which can be beamed straight into your into schools and homes.
Inspiration for the name came from Waterstones Children’s Laureate 2019-2022 Cressida Cowell’s key message ‘reading is magic, and magic is for everyone’. The award-winning children’s author and creator of How to Train Your Dragon and The Wizards of Once book plays a key role in the festival.
As with last year’s festival Bath Children’s Literature Festival has teamed up with festival partners in different parts of the world, with events coming from Kingston in Jamaica, Toronto and Dublin, among others. The partnership of festivals and programmers is made up of Bath Children’s Literature Festival, Boswell Book Festival, Bradford Literature Festival, Kingston Book Festival, the Irish Children’s Laureate, New Dutch Writing, Seven Stories, Toronto International Festival of Authors and Wigtown Book Festival.
This year’s programme includes Joseph Coelho, Cressida Cowell, Michael Rosen, Harry Baker, Laura Ellen Anderson, BB Alston, Holly Bourne, Frank Cottrell Boyce, Rob Biddulph, M.G. Leonard, Dr Shini Somara, Dean Atta and many more!
