Date of Invention: Late 19th Century
More Info:
Before the invention of the electric kettle, making tea was a lot more tricky than it is now!
You had to get a saucepan or a traditional kettle, fill it with water and put it on the stove or over a fire. But when the electric kettle this all changed.
No one is certain of who invented the first electric kettle, but most people believe it was Crompton & Co (the inventors of the electric toaster) in 1891.
