The first ever vacuum cleaner was invented by Ives W. McGaffey and it was quite different to what we’re used to today.
You had to push it across the floor whilst also turning a hand crank to make it work.
Modern vacuum cleaners are very different. Most machines are bag-less now and have a container that you empty and put straight back into the cleaner.
