Robot from the Fun Kids Breakfast Show has got himself a new pal – Korneliusz Kog from Poland – the trouble is Robot doesn’t know any Polish words!
Robot’s downloaded a Polish language pack so he can talk to his friend and Sean’s said that if he learns the words, he’ll help him remember them by building them in Minecraft!
This time, Sean’s built the letter Ż. That’s like our ‘Z’, with a tiny dot above it! The sound it makes is ZHUH – like the sound in the English word “VISION”
There’s loads of cool animals that have the Ż sound in their name… Like frog, which is żaba – [zhaba]! Let’s take a look at some more Polish animals…
The white stork is one of the most iconic animals in Poland. There is even a Polish superstition about it. If you are in Poland and you see one of those birds flying or standing in its nest, you will have good luck!
The white stork can reach more than 2 meters tall and over a quarter of the global population can be found in Poland!
The European Bison is also one of Poland’s favourite animals! Some Polish people think it reflects Polish pride around the world. It’s really iconic!
In Polish, the animal has the name żubr and weighs over 900 kilograms!
One animal you won’t find in Poland is żyrafa – [zhiraffa]! They’re giraffes, and they’re not native to Poland, so you’ll only find them in places like zoos.
