The City of London Corporation states that “around almost every corner in the city you will find an unusual piece of public art or a commemoration of the City’s great history.”
On this walk, weβre exploring statues. The City of London is FULL of statues.
Some are intended to show our pride in our nationsβ leaders and great individuals, others represent historic events.
Some of the statues that we will see are:
- Gilt of Cain in Fen Court
- James Greathead on Cornhill
- The London Stone on Cannon Street
- The Cordwainer in Watling Street
- Nail at One New Change
- Gardener Statue in Brewers’ Hall Garden
- The Minotaur in St Alphage Gardens
- Kindertransport at Liverpool Street Station
