1. Prince William’s full name is William Arthur Philip Louis Mountbatten-Windsor.

Each part of his name has specific significance.

“William” is a traditional name with historical roots in the British royal family.

“Arthur” pays homage to the legendary King Arthur and has been a recurrent middle name in the royal lineage.

“Philip” is a direct reference to his grandfather, Prince Philip.

Finally, “Louis” is a nod to Lord Louis Mountbatten, a close family relative.

2. He was born on 21st June, 1982 in Paddington, London.

On June 21, 1982, Prince William, the eldest child of Charles, Prince of Wales (now King Charles III), and Diana, was born at St Mary’s Hospital in London.

3. Prince William is a qualified helicopter pilot.

In 2010, he successfully completed his helicopter pilot training with the RAF Search and Rescue Force.

Throughout this period, he was involved in over 150 operations before finishing his military service in September 2013.

Then, from July 2015 to July 2017, William took on the role of an air ambulance pilot. He donated everything he was paid to the charity.

5. William’s code name at university was Steve!

Prince William’s use of the code name “Steve” during his university days was a measure taken to maintain a level of anonymity and privacy.

While attending the University of St Andrews in Scotland, it was common for members of the royal family to have code names to protect their identities and ensure a more ordinary college experience.

“Steve” was the chosen alias for Prince William during his time at university, allowing him to blend in with his fellow students and engage in a more typical student life without the constant attention that comes with being a member of the royal family.

6. William is next in line to the British throne after his father.

William is next in line to the British throne and so one day he will be King!
