Dan and Bex are finding out that being able to understand a road is very important for both drivers and pedestrians.
We’re on the M6 near junction 16 now. It’s been designed to help drivers understand what’s going on, and to keep things moving.
Information about what’s going on right now means drivers are in a position to make sensible choices in good time, helping them to their destinations.
Signs can be used to warn of problems ahead or give notice of events in the area which might cause hold ups. Road designers know to only use signs when you really need one – otherwise, with too many signs, people can become distracted and confused.
