Adanya’s suitcase is full of things that her grandfather owned – some from when he was a boy in the Caribbean, some he collected when on the ship that brought him over, others when he settled in the UK.
Every time Adanya opens the suitcase and touches one of the things, she is transported back in time and place to when her grandfather originally had it – experiencing what he experienced and meeting the people he met!
