You can listen to Mission Transmission – our radio broadcast to deep space featuring YOUR voices here .
These Fruit Rockets make the perfect snack for a Mission Transmission party and are good for you too!
Remember to get the supervision of an adult as you’ll need to do some chopping for this recipe.
Ingredients
- Strawberries
- Bananas
Equipment
- Bamboo Skewers
- A Chopping Board
- A Knife
- Orange and Red Paper
- Sticky Tape
Recipe
Step 1
Get a clean chopping board, a knife (you can use a non sharp knife like a butter knife for this recipe but still make sure you have help from an adult), bamboo skewers and the fruit.
Make sure you have washed the chopping board and the strawberries.
Step 2
Peel the bananas and cut into 1 inch chunks
Cut the strawberry into half inch chunks and save a few strawberry’s that are extra pointy to be the end of the rocket.
Step 3
Cut a piece of banana so it looks like the bottom of the rocket
Step 4
Add your fruit to the bamboo skewer – add the bottom of the rocket first and then alternate fruit until you put the pointy strawberry on the top
Step 5
Cut out some strips of red and orange paper, crepe or tissue paper works really well.
Crinkle them the top and use sticky tape to put the paper on the rockets.
Step 6
Share the fruit rockets with friends and listen to Mission Transmission at 7PM on 21st February – right here on Fun Kids.
