We all love Disney’s Descendants here at Fun Kids, so we’ve gone ahead and created another amazing make for you to try at home!
It’s a Descendants Magazine Holder and it’s perfect for keeping copies of your new Descendants magazine safe!
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make your very own Descendants Magazine Holder, complete with pictures!
To make this Descendants-inspired Magazine Folder, you will need:
- Purple paint,
- A load of golden glitter,
- A ring-binder,
- Some string,
- A sheet of paper,
- Glue,
- A marker pen, some scissors, and a paintbrush!
Step 1: Create a pattern with string!
To give your magazine holder some texture, create a pattern with string. You’ll need to coil the string in interesting shapes, like we’ve done at the corners!
Add some glue to the folder first to help keep the string in place, and then cover with glue afterwards to keep it secure.
Step 2: Paint!
To give your holder that true Descendants feel, paint it in a striking purple! You could also use a lime-green, if you’re feeling super creative.
Once you’ve painted the folder, put it to one side and let it dry!
Step 3: Select your letter!
We’ve gone for ‘M’ for Mal, but you can pick any letter you want to go here – maybe ‘D’ for Descendants!
Draw your letter on a sheet of paper and, being very careful, cut it out using a pair of scissors.
This will create a cool stencil ready for the next step, which is to add some flare to your folder!
Step 4: Mark your letter!
Place your newly created stencil on the front of your newly created magazine holder.
Using glitter paint, or using glue and loose glitter, add some sparkle to your creation!
Spread thinly and leave the glitter paint or glue to dry a little before removing the sheet of paper.
Step 5: Finishing touches!
Before you add Descendants Magazine to your new magazine holder, add some final touches.
Using the glitter, sprinkle or paint a little on the raised string and leave to dry.
After, remove the letter stencil and you’re done!
And you’re done! Good work!
