Have you ever gazed up at the night sky and wondered about the mysteries of the universe?
Here’s your chance to turn that curiosity into an extraordinary opportunity…
We’re looking for a Young Astronomer to take residence at the Royal Observatory Greenwich — and it could be you!
This isn’t just any title; it’s an honour like no other!
As the Young Astronomer, you’ll get the chance to meet real-life space experts — the people pushing the boundaries of our understanding of the cosmos.
You’ll also enjoy a VIP tour of the iconic Royal Observatory Greenwich in London later this year.
We’re doing this to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the first Astronomer Royal.
The Astronomer Royal is one of the most prestigious titles in the scientific world! It was first established in 1675 and was created to advance space research and provide expertise that could benefit navigation and timekeeping!
Today the Astronomer Royal continues to inspire the public, promote scientific discovery, and acts as a link between the world of astronomy and every day people.
As our Young Astronomer, you’d do the same.
Imagine standing on the world-famous Prime Meridian, exploring the home of Greenwich Mean Time, and delving into the stories of astronomers who revolutionised our understanding of space. You’ll even get up close to the awe-inspiring Great Equatorial Telescope, one of the largest refracting telescopes in the UK.
